Geographic location

The balneoclimateric resort of Sangeorz-Bai is located in the N-E part of the county of Bistrita-Nasaud, in a beautiful depression, at a height of 435m, between 24°43’ eastern longitude and 47°39’ northern latitude. Related to the village, the resort is situated in the N-W part, surrounded by high hills covered with beech and coniferous forests.

Climate

As a consequence of its location on the southern slope of Rodnei Mountains, the resort has a subalpine climate, with cool summers and gentle winters with no harsh frost, the average annual temperature oscillating around 6° Celsius. The atmospheric pressure oscillates between 720-725 mmHg, the winds reach mild intensities, bringing ozonate air over the resort, strongly negative aero-ionization, all offering a degree of uniqueness to the resort. Rainfall reaches higher values in spring and winter, the summers being poorer in rain water, the autumns long and more or less dry.
